Vincent Lamar Carter, commonly known as “Vince Carter” was born on January 26, 1977, in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born to his father, Vince Carter Sr. and his mother, Michelle Carter. Right from childhood, Vince loved playing basketball.

For his schooling, Vince Carter attended Mainland High School in Dayton Beach. At a very young age, when he was in high school, Vince was honored with McDonald’s All-American. After finishing high school, he went to attend the University of South Carolina, where he reached twice in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament.

Career

After graduating from college, Vince Carter started his journey of professional basketball with ‘Toronto Raptors,’ an NBA team. He was there with the ‘Raptors’ for six years. The performance of the team started getting worst, so Carter wanted out of the ‘Raptors,’ but management didn’t agree with that. Vince started getting frustrated and played horrible, which forced the ‘Raptors’ to trade him to the ‘New Jersey Nets.’

Vince Carter signed a four-year contract with the New Jersey Nets. At the nets, he played one of the best basketball and led the team thrice to the playoffs. He produced some of the highest numbers and attained career-high in numerous sections of the game.

After having a successful spell at the ‘Nets,’ Vince was traded to Orlando Magic. He made his debut for Magic against the Philadelphia 76ers. He was there for only one season but made a lot of difference. He helped the Magic to 2010 NBA Playoffs before losing to Boston Celtics in Eastern Conference Finals.

Vince Carter was then traded to Phoenix Suns. At the Suns, he made a successful partnership with NBA legend Steve Nash. Vince Carter then agreed to sign three years deal with the defending champion, Dallas Mavericks. Here, he was reunited with his former teammate, Jason Kidd. Again, Vince had a great season at Dallas, and after spending three years at Dallas, he joined Memphis Grizzlies. He remained there for three years before joining Sacramento Kings in 2017.
