His often inspirational videos, like “Be the Strongest Version of Yourself and Inspire Others” on his channel “Strength Camp” have garnered over 2.5 million views on YouTube.
Elliott Hulse was born in 1979 in New York City to parents, Debbie and Edmund Hulse. Elliott’s uncle was a gymnast and martial artist, and it was he who introduced Elliot, along with his other three siblings, to physical exercise in the basement of their house. With their painstaking efforts and dedication, the children soon mastered the push ups, chin ups and various other physical fitness workouts.
Elliot developed a passion for football in his middle school, ultimately gaining a football scholarship to St. John’s University where he played as a defensive lineman and earned the title of MVP and team captain. He later went on to discontinue his studies, as he grew increasingly disillusioned with the various theories and what he thought was non-practical information. While still at college, Elliott established his own gym called ‘Way Over,’ which disintegrated in 2008 because of his bad economic conditions, after which he started his YouTube channel in the hope of making some money.
What he didn’t anticipate at that time, however, was that he would go on to become a social media sensation! After leaving college, Elliott Hulse married his long-time girlfriend Colleen in 2002 and is now a proud father of 4 children.
Elliot Hulse’s career began humbly with a YouTube channel, ‘Strength Camp’ which eventually transformed into a 1,000,000 subscribers strong beast of a channel that paved the way for his successful career as a personal trainer. His innovative training methods attracted hordes of clients, and he soon moved base to St. Petersburg, Florida along with his family where his popularity as a personal trainer grew.
Since he earned a lot of money through his training programs, he opened his own gym and even started a strength camp. Elliott’s desire to learn innovative and novel things every day led him to take part in the nation-wide Strongest Man competition, which he went on to win.
However, an unfortunate incident wherein he tore the muscles in his biceps forced him out of his strongman training, pushing him towards depression. It was during this grave time that he developed his theory of the four layers of strength, namely physical, physiological, psychological and presentable strength.
After the accident, Elliott stopped uploading videos on his YouTube channel, growing more and more reticent every day. He eventually found solace in meditation and religion. He realised the importance of spiritual, mental and emotional wellbeing along with physical fitness during this time and began uploading videos with a renewed vigour.
From 2015, his strength camp transformed into a globally renowned gym growing rapidly in various parts of the USA and Europe. Elliott also started a project which focused on the motivation of people with no jobs and gave them the freedom to choose their passion and earn from there.
Elliot released his book, “KING: The Four Layer Approach to Becoming the Strongest Version of Yourself” which delved into his life experiences. Elliott also started a “Grounding Camp” where he taught people how to release tension and how to deal with different situations.
