Doug Jones was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the U.S., on May 24, 1960. His childhood was spent on the Northeast side of the city. His dad was a self-trained entrepreneur, and his mother was a homemaker. He is the youngest of the four brothers. He attended Bishop Chatard High School and then went to Ball State University, where he graduated. He portrayed the school mascot as he had experienced as a mime.
Doug Jones has been married to Laurie Jones since 1984. They had been dating since high school. He first saw her performing on stage on Valentine’s Day, and that same night they attended Valentine’s Day dance together. This was their very first date. They tied the knot on April 14, 1984. They do not have any kids and are currently residing in California.
