Born on the 10th of March in 1940, as Carlos Ray Morris in Oklahoma, he is the son of Wilma and Ray Norris, a WWII soldier, mechanic, and driver. He was named after the minister of his father, Carlos Berry. He has two younger brothers Aaron and Wieland, who died in Vietnam. He saw his parents get separated when he was just sixteen years old. According to Chuck, his childhood was downbeat. He was not into sports, was average, shy, and suffered from debilitating introversion throughout his childhood.
Norris has been married twice with four kids and has one more child from an extramarital affair. His first marriage was with Dianne Holecheck in 1958, with whom he has two kids. They got divorced in the year 1988. The next year he married model Gena O’ Kelly, she was 23 years younger to him, and they had twins in 2001. His daughter, Dina, born in 1964, was from an extramarital affair.
Chuck started with joining the U. S Air Force as Air Policeman in 1958 and was sent to South Korea. This is where he got the name ‘Chuck.’ He also started training in Tang Soo Do and did so well that he soon became a black belt. In fact, it was because of his excellence that black belts were introduced in the art form and also led to the creation of Chun Kuk Do. After returning to America, he continued in the Airforce till 1962.
After excelling in martial arts, he opened his own Karate School and had a list of celebrity clients like Steve McQueen, Bob Barker, Donny Osmond, and more. He also wrote a book ‘Winning Tournament Karate’ in 1975, which studied the competition training for several ranks.
Chuck forayed into films and made his acting debut with the film ‘The Wrecking Crew’ in the year 1969. In 1972 he acted as the nemesis of Bruce Lee in film ‘Way of the Dragon’ that was a widely acclaimed Martial arts film. This was the film that paved his way to stardom.
He then appeared in multiple films inside roles as well as main roles. His significant appearances are in films like ‘Good Guys Wear Black,’ ‘The Octagon,’ ‘Lone Wolf McQuade,’ ‘Code of Silence,’ ‘Missing in Action’ trilogy. ‘Delta Force,’ and more. In the 1980’s he became the leading star of ‘The Cannon Group.’ He was part of the hit series ‘Walker’ throughout the nineties and ‘Texas Ranger’ from 1993 to 2001.

He received a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ as well in 2010. He has won a few awards for his film and television appearances as well but has mostly won awards for martial arts.
