9. Johnny Cash
John R. Cash, one of the best-selling and most influential music artists of all time is known for his calm and deep voice. His music, his rebelliousness and most of all, his humble demeanor made him appealing to the common folks. In the 50s, Cash began performing concerts at prisons. He was arrested in 1965 and had to spend time in jail under suspicion of smuggling heroin. Although the charge turned out to be untrue, Cash, not-the-less had to pay a fine of $1000.
